http auth for CalDAV/CardDAV

Would it be possible to add the possibility to use http auth for dav servers? As if you run your own DAV solution it is not uncommon to put your DAV behind your webserver's http auth. I'm very sure I had it set up and working in the past (using radicale DAV server I belive) and it then "stopped working" (TM) for me starting with some update up until now so I marked it a BUG. Please make this functional again because unless you run some business you really don't want to expose your services to everyone online.
